Abstract

I will outline the principles of ethical and effective advance care planning both for children and adults. I will outline the range of interventions which can be withheld or withdrawn, including feeding and hydration. I will outline the concept of values-based advance care planning and its relevance to context-specific medical decisions. I will show how people have a de facto right to euthanasia through the advance refusal of feeding and hydration.
