Twenty-five studies (1088 patients) up to December 2015 were included (16 randomised controlled trials and 9 prospective observational cohort trials). Mean age ranged from 18 to 88 years old. Twenty-two studies (88%) reported adverse events, with six patients (0.55%) experiencing a minor exercise-related musculoskeletal adverse event. Nine studies reported attendance, which was between 59% and 100%; nine studies reported adherence rates, which was between 65% and 89%.
