This issue of BMJ Supportive & Palliative Care, the first of volume four, marks the twelfth since we were launched and three whole years publication of our journal. So it is with great pleasure that I can at last answer the most common question that authors ask. Yes, BMJ Supportive & Palliative Care is now indexed on MEDLINE and for our early contributors, MEDLINE coverage will begin with Volume 1, issue 1 (June 2011).

This seems a good time to thank our associate editors, editorial board members, authors and, particularly our reviewers.
